St. Pete Shenanigans

📍 St. Petersburg, Florida

Downtown Saint Petersburg… the heart and soul of the city. It felt as though down every alley way was lined with cobblestone grounds and architecture to die for. Exploring the hallways of art galleries and taking in all the brightly painted murals was a photographers dream… or at least mine. As soon as I caught heart eyes for one mural I’d turn the corner to be amazed by another. It fascinates me how every artist has a completely different technique for when it comes to creating their murals yet they’re all cohesive.

My best friend / partner in crime Emily.

By the time we had wrapped up roaming through the back ways of Downtown our stomachs had awakened an appetite we couldn’t ignore. Our cuisine destination of choice: Locale Market. With food stations stretching from back to front there’s no denying the urban ambience this place carries. Sadly at this time in our adventure my hangry side dominated and the photographer / blogger side got shoved to the curb which is why there’s no photographs of food. *insert sad face*

June 23, 2017 will forever go down in the books as one of the most art enriched days of my entire life and I’d relive it in a heartbeat.

The Return of Lexi

I can’t even put into words why I’ve abandoned this little site of mine. It’s not that I don’t love what I’ve created, it’s just no one really fills you in on the part about it being time consuming. Life in 2016 was filled with highs & lows, changes but mostly it flew by which I was by no means expecting. That being said I left 2016 with some hysterical memories & experciences and I thought one of the ways to make 2017 better was to include you.

I’ve never really been a schedule oriented person so going forward you can be expecting content from me at different times every week. The #1 way to know when something new has appeared on here is my Instagram: @beautychatwithlexi (I’ve also got quite the photography eye which is displayed on there)

This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a talk to ya in a few days!

The Beach Photo Diary

Now and then there’s nothing better then taking a good ole break from reality and one of the best places to escape to is the beach! I’m here for a week with some lovely family and friends. Here’s my vacation so far in pictures! You know what they say, A picture is worth a thousand words! Don’t forget to follow me on IG (@beautychatwithlexi) and Snapchat (@beautywithlexi)!

Remember Me?

Remember me? It’s been far longer then I’d like to admit since the last time I hit the publish button. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried writing out what’s been going on in my life right now or whats gone on these past couple of months that I’ve been MIA. If you would have only seen the papers I’ve been using to jot down the ideas in my head, full of scribbles, arrows pointing to things I want to mention and things I don’t. These last 4 months or so definitely classify as crazy, both in a good and bad sense. I’ve been a lot more busy this year then I ever thought I was gonna be and there’s no sign of it slowing down in the next 6 months. The main thing I want you to take out of this post is that I’M BACK TO BLOGGING!! There isn’t going to be a specific day on which I post a blog, so expect to be seeing either one post a week or you never know there could be 2.

If your anything like me your iPhone is an extension of you. From checking the lastest blog posts to snapping pictures my iPhone is in constant use. It’s even gotten to the point where at all times I have a portable charger in my possession. I’m that person constantly downloading apps on to there phone. Here’s a rundown of the apps I use on a daily basis…

  • VSCO Cam: The app I use exclusively for editing anything and everything photography.
  • Canon Camera Connect: I can transfer my photos via wifi from my Canon G7x to my phone.
  • Bloglovin: A virtual newspaper for us bloggers. A place where all of the latest posts are in one feed.
  • Instagram: By far the social media outlet I frequent the most. I love discovering unique photographers and seeing the way they capture a moment.
  • WordPress: No matter when a new post goes up I love the convince of being able to check the comments on my phone or editing those minor mistakes out before hitting publish.
  • Music: The music app is something you’ll catch me on almost 100% of the time. I’m pretty sure I eat, sleep, and breath music.

A Fresh Beginning

Where do I begin? I feel as though I need to catch up with you like an old friend. An abundance has happened since I lasted posted but for me one of the biggest changes in my mind is regarding content on my blog. Don’t get me wrong I’ll always be devoted to writing about all things beauty related but there is also a whole other side to me. I feel as though sometimes I can get myself in a rut and after a while I’m just making clones. Photography and writing are two creative outlets I’ve fell in love with and want to begin integrating more into my blog. Whether it’s a piece of  writing about what’s going on in my mind that week or a haul on a few new stationary bits. My inspiration levels are at an all time high concerning content and I couldn’t be more eager to get back on the blogging bandwagon!

My Comfort Zone

Chances are if you catch me out an about this is the look you’ll catch me sporting. Some people would say I’m in a rut but I prefer to call it My Comfort Zone. If you’ve taken one look into my wardrobe you’ll know it consists of black, grey, with a touch of white. What can I say I’m a creature of habit, I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color. So without further ado here is a lowdown of everything in my comfort zone…

As far as my makeup routine goes I like to keep things on the lighter side of the spectrum. A lightweight, glowy base with a mauve nude blush, a touch of mascara and a brown – toned lip option.

An essential piece in my wardrobe is a comfy baggy dark grey boyfriend tee and you can never go wrong with some simple silver jewelry. An item I love to pair with anything and everything are my black converses. To top of the look I reach for my black Ray Ban inspired sunglass.

A Week In NYC // Hoboken,New Jersey

Our next pit stop on our trip to NYC was Hoboken, New Jersey where my grandpa grew up. It was the perfect day for wondering through the town and taking pictures next to the water.

That’s it for the 3rd post in my A Week In NYC series. There is going to be 1 last post in this series with a few random highlights from the trip. I’ve really enjoyed creating this series and writing about something different so I’m definitely going to be doing more of these posts in the future.

A Week In NYC // Central Park

This is the 2nd post in my A Week In NYC series where I share some highlights from my trip. Now what’s a trip to the Big Apple without taking a stroll through Central Park. Central Park is one of the most scenic destinations I’ve ever been to, which is why I had to dedicate an entire post to it. There are gorgeous 360 degree views of Manhattan throughout the entire park.

That wraps up this travel post, if you missed the first installment in this series go check that one out. Don’t forget to check back on Wednesday and Friday for the last two posts.

A Week In NYC // Top Of The Rock & Rockefeller Center

At the end of April I spent a week in New York City along with my family and friends. NYC has got to be one of my most loved cities, which is why I couldn’t resist going back a 2nd time. We covered a lot of ground in the week that we were there from taking pictures of flowers in Central Park to roaming the streets in Hoboken, New Jersey. I’ve created a series called A Week In NYC so I can share with you some of the highlights from my New York City trip. So without further ado A Week In NYC // Top Of The Rock & Rockefeller Center.

The first weekend the weather was beautiful, all sunny skies with no cloud in sight. We took advantage of this opportunity to do some sight seeing and first on our list was Rockefeller Center.

Another destination that was on our checklist was the Top Of The Rock observation decks at the top of the GE Building right near Rockefeller Center. One of the best views in Manhattan of the Empire State Building, Statue Of Liberty and even Central Park. There are 3 observation decks both inside and outdoors, the 70th floor is the only floor not enclosed with glass barriers.

IMG_0690 That’s it for this A Week In NYC post, if you enjoyed this post and want to see more don’t forget to like it. There will be several more A Week In NYC post up showcasing some more highlights from my trip. Getting completely off topic I’ve been thinking about doing a Q&A post and I wanted to know if that is something you would want to see. If that’s something you would like to see you can leave me some comments asking questions.
