Falling Into Fall

Is it safe to say that fall is officially here… I’m not completely sure if it’s acceptable to say that quite yet since fall doesn’t technically start until next week but who can deny all things fall related. There’s pumpkin spice lattes, fairy lights, cozying up by the fire, and we can’t forget taking pictures of the leaves changing. For me, one of my favorite things about Autumn is switching  up my makeup routine and lets be real is there anything better then falling into fall…

The contents of my base hasn’t changed much since the last time we spoke. I’m still reaching for that hydrating primer, followed by a skin-like BB cream and covering that pesky undereye area. Giving the skin a little color with bronzer is an essential for the fall season. I’ve been grabbing an oldie but a goodie – the Clarins Bronzing Duo in 02 Medium. I’m a huge fan of a good 2-toned bronzer and I don’t think I could ever not use one. A blush that seems to always make its way into my makeup bag this time of year is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure –  a soft plum.

For seriously low-key fall makeup days, I’ve got it all narrowed down to one of the ultimate fall makeup palettes – the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Sweeping Naked, a medium-toned matte brown into the crease followed by Buck, a darker version of Naked to define the outer corner. To top off my eye look, I curl my eyelashes and apply numerous coats of the L’oreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof Mascara – a duo ended mascara with a primer on one end and the black mascara on the other. I can’t figure out if I’m a 100% sold on the idea of having to apply a primer before my mascara. All it does is tint my lashes white and once I go over it with mascara it doesn’t completely go away.  A new found love of mine in the brow department is a drugstore offering, the Maybelline Brow Satin – a 2-in-1 brow product offering a retractable wax pencil on one side and a small sponge loaded with powder on the other. As far as the retractable pencil goes, it has a very fine point making it easy to define the arch of your brows while maintaining the natural aspect. In terms of the sponge I’m not quite sure entirely how I feel about it, I’ll have to get back to you on that.

The last step to any good makeup look is lips. I’m not one for wearing a full-on lipstick on an everyday basis, I’m more of a quick one swipe lip color kind of girl and I achieved that with the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Kiddo. A blog post will be coming very soon with a full review and a haul featuring all Colourpop lip products.
