Summer Makeup Routine

We’ve come to the peek of summertime and I feel like I’ve finally nailed down my summer makeup routine consisting of a hydrating primer, glowy blush, and a wash of color on the lids.

After my morning skincare routine, a boost of hydration while priming the skin is something you absolutely need in the summertime and the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is exactly that. It’s even to the point where I’ve gotten my mom into asking if she can borrow it. I might have to get her one soon. A lightweight base is something I love year round but incorporating SPF into it is a double whammy and the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue achieves both. We can’t forget about concealing those under eye circles and I’ve found my new concealer, the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer. Hopefully I’ll have a blog post up on this concealer and the matching foundation soon! All I’ll say right now is it’s amazing. To finish up the base I reach for a glowy blush, the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender.

In the contexts of my eyes, my Mac palette has made a revisit into my eye routine in particularly the Shadow Satin Taupe. It’s a taupe with silver shimmer running through it, don’t worry though it’s not chunky glitter. I’ve worn this shadow during the daytime as a light wash of color and nighttime for a darker look. Sadly, my beloved L’oreal Miss Manga Mascara dried out but I have found another gem to replace it…the Rimmel Lift Me Up Mascara. Oh, you can’t forget the brows. I haven’t put down the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in Expresso ever since I got it. It reminds me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil which I have yet to try.

A touch of color on the lips has become an essential for me especially the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector. Of course I went for the brown shade Rosewood (anyone else think of PLL) which leaves a natural looking color and shine on the lips.
