One of my favorite shades to wear during the summer time is rose tones. Anything from an eye look, to blush, and everywhere in between rosy tones have become an essential for me on a summer night out, which is why when I saw the new Maybelline palette The Blushed Nudes I knew I needed it in my life.
As a base on the eyelids I’m using the Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in 55 Inked in Pink. Applying a cream shadow before using powder eyeshadows will insure that they last all day long without creasing. Now it’s time for the star of the look, The Blushed Nudes Palette from Maybelline. I was a little skeptical of this palette at first, being that I wasn’t too impressed with the original The Nudes Palette. But let me tell you this palette has completely changed my mind. The shadows are pigmented and blend easily. Next time you’re at the drugstore, you need to pick this palette up. To top off the look I curled my lashes and applied a couple of coats of the Maybeline Lash Sensational Mascara.
A blush I find myself always going back to is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed. I’ve had this product for about a year now and there is no sign of it leaving my everyday rotation anytime soon. It’s the perfect everyday nude blush with a hint of mauve in it. Definitely goes hand in hand with the blush tones.
I love a light, glossy lip in the summer time and the Nyx Butter Glosses achieve just that. Their light on the lips but still have good color payoff. One of my favorite shades in the range is Angel Food Cake, a true “my lips but better” shade.
Have you tried The Blushed Nudes Palette? Do you like wearing roses tones in the summer?
Taking care of my skin has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing but never really had a passion for until recently. Somehow I’ve been spending countless amounts of hours looking up new skincare products, watching YouTuber’s skincare routines, and planning out future blog posts in my head, which is when this post was born… my Evening Skincare Routine.
Cleanse & Remove Makeup |
The first step in beginning my skincare routine is cleansing and removing my makeup. For the past couple months, I’ve dove into the world of micellar water and there is no sign of me getting out anytime soon. I’ve been putting the Boots Botanics All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution to the test. This micellar solution isn’t necessarily my favorite out of the bunch but it isn’t the worst. I wear minimal makeup on a regular basis and this solution removes it but whenever I go on top of it with a toner I find that there is makeup leftover on the cotton pad. There is going to be a full review on this product along with a few other micellar waters coming soon so stay tuned. After I remove my makeup I always have the dilemma of whether to wash my face or not. On the nights I do I reach for the Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Face Wash. I’m about half way through this cleanser and my opinion of it is in the middle. Don’t get me wrong I love the way it foams up on the face and the packaging with a pump but something tells me that I won’t be repurchasing this face wash right away.
Exfoliate & Tone |
Once a week I exfoliate my face with the Vivo Per Lei Facial Peeling Dead Sea Minerals. This is the softest exfoliator I’ve ever used on my skin. All you have to do is dot the product on each cheek, nose, forehead, and chin then start buffing the exfoliator all around your face in circular motions. While your doing that you’ll notice little white flakes appear all over where the dead skin was. After that I normally grab a cotton pad and remove all of the exfoliator but I also go in with a wash cloth to make sure I got everything off my face. Then I follow up with the Dfi Anti Aging Facial Toner, which smells amazing. After you apply this toner give it about a minute or so to dry before applying your moisturizer. The toner goes hand and hand with the exfoliator and after you use these products your skin will feel so smooth.
The last two steps in my skincare routine are focused on adding hydration back into the skin. For my face moisturizer I’ve been loving the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. One full pump of this product is all you need for your entire face. Don’t get worried by the yellow color once you start massaging it in it blends right into the skin. At last our skincare routine is complete but lets not forget one important part of our skincare routine… lips. In the last few weeks I’ve gone back to using my beloved Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm in the pink shade. It’s the perfect thick texture for dry lips which I’m suffering from at the moment.
Finally we have come to the end of my evening skincare routine. What products do you use in your evening skincare routine? Any recommendations for skincare purchases I need to make?
Oh, where has the time gone! I feel like it was just the beginning of the year and now we have 6 months till the end of the year. Lets not move to quickly though we still have to talk about our favorites from the month of May.
A lifestyle favorite of mine has been my blogging notebook. I’ve always been a stationary lover so naturally I needed to purchase a journal for my blog. A quick run into Staples and out I come with the Markings Large Textured Journal. I’ve become slightly obsessed with writing to do lists and planning out my blog content. I swear I could write up an entire post just on my blogging organization. While I’m working on my blog, I’ve loved burning the Diptyque Jasmin Candle. My mom’s friend gave me this candle and I’ve not stopped burning it. The scent can fill an entire room with no problem. Definitely putting this candle at the top of my wishlist.
Moving on to beauty favorites, my first one is skincare related. It’s the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water. I’ve sworn by this product ever since it came out and there is no sign of it leaving my skincare routine anytime soon. If you want to hear more in detail about this product check out my full review here. Now it is time for some makeup loves from May. The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water has been my best friend throughout these hot summer months. When I first picked this product up from Sephora I had my doubts on whether it was going to work but I was surprised at how well it made my make up last. This spray is perfect for refreshing your make up throughout the day while leaving a cooling sensation on the skin. Definitely two thumbs up in my book. Another base product I’ve been having a moment with is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Ginger. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to pop onto your blemishes and buff into the skin. Speaking of buffing it into the skin I’ve been reaching for the Real Techniques Angled Shadow Brush to blend out the concealer. The angle of the brush makes it convenient to get around the nose area and under the eye. Sadly this brush only comes in the Nic’s Picks set but I would highly suggest picking up this set just for this brush. Now it’s time to focus on the cheeks and lips. A blush I never seem to get tired of is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed. No matter what season it is or what makeup look I’m going for this blush always seem to go with it. This blush has definitely been placed in the top 5 category. Rounding up my may favorites is the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 03 Nude Shimmer. The formula of this product is a hybrid between the sheen of a lipgloss and the pigmentation of a lip crayon which is perfect for those “no makeup” makeup days.
That’s a wrap for the May Favorites! It was rather a long one considering I’ve not done a favorites post since February which is crazy. So I’m going to try my hardest to regularly do this post at the end of each month. What were some of your favorites from May?
