Fresh Spring Makeup

Nothing is better in the spring time then a wash of bronze on the lids and a glow to the skin. Also known as a Fresh Spring Makeup look so today I’m sharing with you my take on that classic spring look.

In these warmer months primer is going to be my best friend especially since I discovered a new product. I mentioned the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water in my latest blog post (which you should read) and let me tell you it lives up to all the praise. I use it as a base before my makeup and after as a setting spray. On the complexion I have not be able to put down the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. I love to apply and blend this product out with my clean fingers. It blends into the skin effortlessly appearing almost like you have nothing on. But for those few pesky blemishes the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer comes in handy. All it takes is a couple dabs and poof there’re all gone. At the moment I’ve stopped setting my makeup with powder because I want to keep the glow on my skin. Ask me 6 months ago and I would have said that I needed powder in my life.

If your like me you need a little bronzer to make it look like you’ve been sunbathing in Hawaii and that’s where the Clarins Bronzing Duo comes into play. I usually grab an angled brush and apply the bronzer on my cheeks, temples, and jawline to make sure everything looks the same shade. A pop of color on the cheeks is refreshing for the spring time and my favorite way of incorporating that is through blush. A recent purchase of mine was the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat. This blush is extremely pigmented so start off with a light hand and work your way up to a more intense color if you want.

I like to keep it simple on the eyelids with a cream shadow. The Maybelline Color Tattoos are the perfect wash of color for the spring time especially the shade Bad To The Bronze. For a sheer application on the lid I reach for fluffy brushes – my favorite is the Number 7 Eyeshadow Blend and Contour brush. To keep it on the simple side I skip eyeliner and go straight to curling my eyelashes and applying mascara. For the past few months my favorite mascara has been the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I love the curved wand because it adds a ton of volume to your lashes but after a couple coats I’ve definitely noticed it can start to look clumpy. Lets not forget one of the most important features on your face – brows. The Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift Pencil is a must have weather it’s a day to day look or a special occasion so I won’t ramble to much. Basically it’s a pencil that has an angle to it making it easy to define the arch of your brows.  The last step to the brows is setting them with a brow gel. I’ve had a love hate relationship with the L’oreal Brow Artist Plumper and right now it’s not to bad.

A touch of color on the lips while moisturizing them is a winner in my book for the spring time and the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfectors do both of those things. I have the shade Rosewood (anyone else think of PLL) and it’s the classic brown nude shade with a sheen to it. Great for the hot months here in Florida.
