Hello everyone!! Spring is officially here which means it’s time bring out the bright shades. Don’t get me wrong I’m a neutral girl at heart but sometimes a pop of color in refreshing. The color I incorporated in my look was purple – which brings out brown eyes.
I kept the eyelids simple with a matte cream shade on the lid and a medium-toned matte brown blended out in the crease, all from the Lorac Pro Palette. Next I grabbed the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette and started focusing the color on my lower lash line. I slowly began to build up the intensity concentrating on the 2nd row of the Tarte Palette. First I took the shade Caregiver and Natural Beauty on a pencil brush and buffed them on my lower lash line. Then going in with the same pencil brush I took Best Friend and Bombshell – which are the two darkest shades in the row and smudged them along my lower lash line.
The last two things to complete the look is eyeliner and mascara. I took the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade Riot to line my water line. It’s a smokey matte grey with tiny violet and fuchsia micro-sparkles which makes it pop in the water line. The finishing touch to this look is mascara. I reached for the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and lets just say thats it’s not my favorite. I would definitely recommend other Maybelline mascaras over this one.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my take on a spring look incorporating a pop of color. Are you going to be incorporating a pop of color into your spring looks and if so what color?
Happy Monday everyone!! This past fall I fell in love with anything matte – matte blush, matte eyeshadow and especially matte lips. So today I’m sharing with you all my favorite matte themed products and why I’m Mad About Mattes!
The first avenue I tried matte products in was blushers. About a year ago in NY I picked up one of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushers and I’ve not been able to put it down. Exposed is the classic nude blush shade for the spring time. On the skin this blusher gives you a natural flush making your skin look healthy and fresh. This has to be one of my favorite blush formula of all time now. Definitely want to pick up more shades of these blushers very soon.
Lips is the avenue where I wear mattes the most. All of the shades that I have are very similar – the Kylie Jenner/90s lip. The range of the 90s lip is pretty wide: from more of a mauve pink to more of a brown tone. At the moment the matte mauve pink has been my thing. The Maybelline Matte Lipsticks are amazing in general but especially the shade Touch Of Spice. Whenever I wear this lip color I feel like I need to be wearing a varsity jacket! If you prefer lip crayons don’t worry cause I’ve got you covered. The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry and the Wet N’ Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color in Fashion Darling are again very similar but still amazing 90s lip colors.
When it comes to matte eyeshadows Tarte has knocked it out of the ball park. Their Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette has 3 rows each containing a highlight, lid color, crease color, and outer crease/eyeliner. This palette is perfect for throwing in your everyday makeup bag. Underneath this eyeshadow palette I love wearing the Maybeliine Color Tattoo in the shade Creamy Beige – it’s a neutral color perfect for wearing alone or works amazing as a base. Another Maybelline Color Tattoo that works beautifully for this palette Vintage Plum – it’s a deep warm plum that goes great for a purple smokey eye.
I hope you enjoyed seeing why I’m Mad About Mattes!! Leave me a comment telling me if your a matte lover or a shimmer girl all the way. Thank you so much for reading this blog post and I will talk to you soon!!
Hello everyone!! As a part of my little blogging break I didn’t do a monthly favorites for January which means that I have a good amount of products for February. So let’s begin with my favorites from this past month. M A K E U P: Apparently I missed the memo that I was going to be having acne spots this past month so with that concealer has been my best friend. I’ve been reaching for the Revlon Colorstay Concealer and it has become my staple. This concealer blends into the skin effortlessly and is medium coverage while still looking natural. You can either blend it out with a damp beauty blender or what I prefer a small concealer brush. Staying on the face product band wagon I also have 2 blush favorites. The first one is Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. Exposed is the perfect matte nude but for those days when I want a glow to my skin I mix it with a MAC blush. It’s a Mineralized Blush in Warm Soul. These blushes mixed together I have not been able to put down.
S K I N C A R E: Here in Florida the cold weather has really been appearing this past month which means it’s time to bring out the heavy duty moisturizer. The Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Moisturizer is the one. It hydrates the skin while not letting it feel greasy or oily at all. Not to mention it’s a product from the drugstore which means it’s affordable. My second skincare favorite is also from the drugstore. It’s the Neutrogena On The Spot Acne Treatment. This product has became a necessity for me when I get those acne spots. I would recommend not applying your moisturizer on top of this product rather go a round the area you applied it that way the treatment doesn’t move around. Finally, we have come to my last skincare favorite. It’s the My Favorite Lip Balm from Bath & Body Works and it has been a savior to my dry lips.
F R A G R E N C E: This last product is kind of a different favorite. Degree recently came out with a dry spray deodorant and I was fascinated by the concept. The idea of this spray deodorant is to go on dry not wet like most spray deodorants feel and let me just say it is amazing. It goes on completely dry and has the best scent. I picked up the scent ‘Shower Clean’, I would describe it as bright floral scent that leaves you with a clean feeling. I hope you guys enjoyed this insight into my favorites for the month of February! Leave me a comment letting me know some of your favorite from this past month.
